V-Formation *OR* V Formation
When birds fly in a ‘V’ formation, they dramatically increase their efficiency, and consequently, their flight range. Communication and visibility are improved and the efforts of the entire group are enhanced by the updraft from front fliers. A 'V-Formation' is about optimized collaboration and shared leadership.

V-Formation: Innovation through Investing.
We are looking primarily for a logo that will be the consistent icon to describe our brand. Our amazing logo will be the nose on our face to the world. Business cards, letter head, website, t-shirts, coasters... you get the idea.
What we want to express in the logo: Leader: Exciting, Innovative, Sophisticated
...and a little edgy.
We operate somewhat in the old-school world of investing--suits and board rooms. But that's not all. We are also working with leading Universities, entrepreneurs, and non-profit buffs: bold professors, mad scientists, glamorous urbanites, work-a-holics and talented nerds. We aim to attract them all.
The design should evoke the image of birds in a V Formation. As for text, we thought of using 'V Formation' (with no hyphen) but wondered if it would appear as a Roman Numeral. So, we are open to using V-Formation as well. Will be curious to see what your design mind does with that decision...
You may choose to incorporate the slogan: "Innovation through Investing". That is up to creative discretion, too! Hopefully that will be something that we can add or take away depending on the use.
The design should carefully use color: we intend to "own" a color or color associated with our brand. (Our organic-industrial office has a bold primary blue and light yellow, so that's been in my mind, but we are wide open wrt color.)
We are based in San Francisco and we LOVE our city. We don't expect incorporating SF, but wouldn't be closed to it.
