The iPhone app that is in development right now is called "Posty McPost." As you can tell from the title, this is a fun app that doesn't take itself too seriously. At the same time, it's really useful-- it's an app that makes it simple and fast to send your favorite iPhone apps to your friends. You can do it over social networks like Facebook or Twitter, or plain old email.
What I'm looking specifically for right now is the logo that will be used as the app's icon on the iPhone home screen. So, this will be seen by everybody who downloads the app, or is browsing the App Store. This is also the button that the user will be looking for when they're trying to find my app on their phone. If you're not already familiar with the iPhone, home screen icons are sized at 57x57. So it needs to be a clear, clean, catchy design that looks good in a relatively small space. It also needs to be able to scale up to 512x512, because Apple requests all logos at that size.
If you'd like more context on other iPhone app icons, I'd recommend downloading iTunes (http://www.apple.com/itunes/) and browsing the "Applications" section of the iTunes Store.
Here are some of the high-level concepts to keep in mind:
- an app that makes it easy to share apps with your friends
- mobile software that connects people
- fast and simple
