bryce-vickmark got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Innovative, bold, clean designed logo for Bryce Vickmark Photography.
Check out bryce-vickmark's Logo design contest…
Established in 2001, I am a Boston editorial, political, advertising and commercial photographer who specializes in photos of real people. My editorial clients include the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Smithsonian Magazine and the Sporting News. When I shoot political jobs I am either photographing candidates on the campaign trail for publications or working for the candidates themselves for their promotional marketing. The companies I work for are in the educational, financial, medical and pharmaceutical fields. When I work for them I am usually making environmental portraits or headshots of their employees or documenting the employees as they go about their day. Companies use these photos mostly for their websites and collateral marketing materials.
Other color requirements
I'd like to explore the following colors: Yellows: Energy, intellect, fun and youth. Aquas: Empathy, compassion, clarity and precision. Oranges: Creativity, adventure and happiness.
Hello and thank you for participating in my contest! Below is what I am looking for. Here is my photography business website for reference. http://vickmark.com • I like the idea of being able to incorporate the design element of the logo with the name all in one but also being able to have the design element that I can use on its own with the name separate in other versions. • I am looking for innovative, bold, clean designs. It can be polished and bold but a little tongue-in-cheek and over-the-top. It can borrow design elements from political campaign buttons, vintage travel posters, vintage logos and radio station logos. • You could possibly add the slogan of sorts For Brands, Business and Publication. Maybe around the edge? • I would like the logo to work as both color and monotone. For colors I am thinking a dark color like black or a very dark rich brown and yellow or a red, white and blue combination might be nice too. • I want to be able to make a ink stamp and hand embosser with this logo. • I do not want to bias you too much when it comes to the shape of the logo but I do like arched lettering and/or round footprint/circle logos. Radiating lines can also be nice. • I may want to include the domain name of my website vickmark.com into the logo and/or Boston but I am concerned this may clutter it up too much so it is not necessary. • Lastly, I am not a designer of course. You are the expert so if you have a really cool idea, I am open to it. I want to love this logo! Thanks again and feel free to shoot me off any questions you may have. All the best! Bryce

And then… they selected a winner!
Tamas was not one of my original designers prompted to submit for my contest. I reached out to Tamas after seeing his online portfolio, it was great seeing his presence online other than just on 99Designs. After sending Tamas and invitation to my contest, he promptly responded and thanked me. I knew already that I should be thanking him! Tamas worked with us to really refine what we were looking for in our brewery logo. Not only do we have a "parent logo" but we also have a mini "suite" of other related designs that can be used throughout our business. Tamas was great to work with. We will be reaching out to him with any future projects.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
