Race Prep Racing
Race Prep Hobbies is a retail store and web site that has been in business since 1987 selling RC (remote control) cars, trucks, planes and helis here in Southern California. Our current business logo is attached here. To expand our advertising and highlight the new Rock Crawling craze in our industry, we decided to sponsor a vehicle that races in open desert and rock crawling competitions. To separate this slightly from the store, we created Race Prep Racing (RPR) as an additional company name/URL.
Race Prep Hobbies (http://www.raceprephobbies.com) is the corporate sponsor for a new desert and rock crawling buggy team in 2010. The buggy is a custom built tube chassis rig with 37" tires and aluminum side panels. It is a 2 seat buggy and the photos attached show it in its prior race. The front end now looks like a Jeep TJ in style. A picture of the current status of it is also attached. The side panels and hood and roof will be painted lime green metallic/pearl and have fuscia, royal blue and orange accent colors.
We intend to use the RPR logo created here for this buggy, any others we sponsor in the future, as well as stickers and bodies for the RC vehicles we sponsor and race in the RC racing world. The idea is to show the connection between the little ones and their full size counterparts while showcasing our retail business.
Our target audience is 18-30 year old males. The sport attracts all ages but is 99% male. The customer base is blue collar, rock and roll type, speed loving, and somewhat agressive. We need to look bad-ass! We need to look fast, edgy, and hard. Our customers often have tatoos, may have piercings, and like anything that goes fast. Our motto is "Where the fast guys shop!". Many of our customers have hot rods, harleys, or dirt bikes. They wear Levis and t-shirts. They have cash money and spend it.
I want to appeal to young people but not offend the older guys (30-60). We are looking fora cult type following. We need to be memorable and recognizable.
We are hoping for some real creative stuff here.
You do NOT need to incorporate the RacePrep Logo! In fact, we plan to update that soon here too.
We intend to vinyl cut this logo for the buggy panels, so it needs to be somewhat simple (not too many small parts) so the cut design can be picked. Colors and parts shouldn't overlap or touch (just a tiny white or black area between them works). We want to use it AS WELL AS PARTS OF IT for apparel (i.e., we need a full logo with Race Prep Racing and a design and also need to be able to use RPR on hats and/or embroidered items). It will be used in limited form on business cards and stationary, though that isn't its primary use.
Not too long or too round in shape. Symetrical, maybe??
We plan to use it in a big form for the buggy panels and also in tiny form for RC Crawlers and several sizes in between.
Our corporate logo is now used in Black, grey (or silver) and white exclusively (copy attached in old colors) but we are looking to consider this logo in the colors listed above (Fuscia, royal blue, orange) to sit on a lime background on the buggy. A black/silver/white version would also be considered and could win out.
Most of all...EDGY, EDGY, EDGY!! Not mean, just strong.
An off-road company called Poison Spyder has become KNOWN by their spider alone...we would LOVE to find something to be known for!
