Illuminating Power Solutions
We sell solar-powered street lights (and other solar-powered equipment) to companies, councils and charitable organisations across the UK.
Logo types to explore
If possible I would like the logo to convey the following qualities about the company and our products (in order of first preference): science/technology-based, established, reliable, sustainably ethical, solution for future. Solar obviously means powered by renewable sunlight. Candela is the scientific unit for Luminous Intensity (a measure of light). It is also the Latin word for candle - but because our products are electrical I do NOT want any reference to flame or fire forming any part of the logo. In addition, although we sell solar street lights, the word candela in our name reflects the luminous intensity of light from the sun. We also supply other solar-powered products in addition to solar street lights - so I do not want the logo to be too specific to manufactured lights. I would like the logo to be clean, bright and technical. I do like orange, but the streetlighting industry is moving away from orange sodium lights (old fashioned) to more modern bluey-white LEDs - so we are probably best to stick to blues rather than yellows/oranges. If there is a way of depicting up-to-date values and appear warm (not too cold) then this would be fantastic. Having seen some initial designs, I can see the advantage of having a logo that also works well in black and white - so it will appear well in photocopied documents in the future. Also, I find that I am liking designs where the image is adjacent to the company name. It is thought that the chosen logo will be one that works best on a white background.
