Jayhawk Plastics Inc, (http://www.JayhawkPlastics.com) has specialized in producing quality plastic products for 37 years. 10 years ago we broke into the 100% Recycled Plastic market and began manufacturing park benches, picnic tables and lots of other site furnishings used by parks, schools, hotels, zoos, amusement parks, golf courses, cities, municipalities, restaurants, landscape architects, etc. Our products are created out of Recycled Plastic Milk Jug cartons. Our products are 100% recycled plastic and our aim as a company is to help reduce landfill space taken up by wasted milk jug products. Our company is the leading manufacturer in the nation. We pride ourselves on high quality products, produced by competent employees who provide excellent customer service at competitive prices all while maintaining an average ship lead time of 1-2 weeks. The industry average lead time is 4-6 weeks.
We are a family run business that operates as a large, professional company. We have full finance, marketing, accounting, sales, customer service, freight and manufacturing departments. Our employees are important to us and we have a family culture that spreads throughout the company. While maximizing profits are important we value a happy workforce who enjoys coming to work to help save our Earth's precious resources.
Our target market are park and rec departments, schools, cities, municipalities, zoo's, amusement parks, landscape architects, commercial shopping centers, restaurants and basically anyone who would ever have a park bench, picnic table, trash receptacle, message center, etc out in front of their shop and or in their park.
We primarily sell our products through distributorship which means we rarely interact with the end users I listed above. Generally, our day to day interactions are with large internet retailers (http://www.theparkcatalog.com), catalog companies (http://www.hayneedle.com), rep agencies (http://www.korkat.com) and some end users (Sea World, Applebees, etc). Our audience is professional and intelligent. They love that our products are 100% recycled and love doing business with us because we provide what we call the "easy button" which means we do most of the leg work to get our products in their catalogs and on their websites so they can get our products in the hands of the end user quickly and with ease. Our target market ranges from a Director at a Park to a CEO at a large internet retail company (http://www.Uline.com).
We are looking for a logo that is clean, crisp, professional looking and is not extremely intricate but at the same time not overly simple. We want to convey that we create 100% recycled plastic site furnishings out of plastic milk jugs.
We want a logo that can be converted and printed in black and white but want the logo to be in color. We are looking to convey the "green movement" as much as possible. We want the logo to be memorable in that, our customers will maybe see a frog and think Frog Furnishings by Jayhawk Plastics. The colors used need to have a clean feel to them... greens (trees, grass, green movement) are good obviously... so are blues (water).
I kind of envision a frog climbing up over the "F" in Frog Furnishings.. just a thought.
Designers are free to be creative but we would like to incorporate one of two taglines into the creation of this logo. The first is: "FROG: Furniture Recycled Outlasting Generations. The second logo is "Cycle Complete." This is intended to convey that we have completed the "Recycle Cycle." We've taken a product, recycled it, reused it and created a new product.
Our products are unique in that they outlast traditional wood and metal furnishings by 5 to 10 times. Our products cannot rot, splinter, warp, break, etc. They cut, screw, nail and hammer just like wood. The colors won't fade.
