Logo types to explore
This is my first time using this service. I've recently purchased a full Adobe creative suite but have yet to even load it onto my computer, let alone learn how to use illustrator and the other software I could use to do this myself. I've always used Apple Aperture for photo editing, but it just doesn't have the tools I need sometimes for the work that I'm doing. Anyway, here is my current logo (designed by me and created by a freind of mine). I chose the colors based on an RGB histogram (but that doesn't mean red green and blue have to be part of my logo). Now that I've decided to "niche" myself in pet and child photography, I'd like to change my logo. However, I will also be doing real estate photography and food photography for local restaurants (I'm a food and beverage manager at a local 5 star resort). Most of the backgrounds my logo will be used with will be black, so having a black background would be helpful. I think I might also be using this either as some type of stamp or watermark on my work, so I may need a transparent background version as well. I would like the "REJ" to still stand out and the word photography be more subtle. (REJ are my initials) I do like having a lens aperture as part of the logo, but not having that incorporated in the design won't knock you out of the running. I was thinking about incorporating a dog's paw print, but don't really know if I should use that as I will be doing more than just pet jobs. So I'm on the fence as to wether or not I want something that specfic in the logo even though pet photography will be my "bread and butter." Most of my clientele will be well-off business owners or retirees and even some are on the Forbes 500 list. So I am looking for something a little more elegant than the logo I designed. Maybe just a fancy script with an aperture or camera outline. I feel like I'm all over the place on what I want and what I'm not sure of. I guess that's typical, but I apologize in advance for any frustration this may cause some of you. I do feel like kindred spirits with you folks in the graphics design field and recognize and respect your artistic talents. The winner of this design "contest" will receive recognition on my website as being the designer of my logo along with a link to your site. Thank you for all you do. -Rob James
