Who are you known as?
What’s your company slogan?
Center for Youth Ministry Training (or) CYMT
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
The Center for Youth Ministry Training is the overarching organization, and we've recently begun a new effort, the Innovation Laboratory (or Innovation Lab - we're willing to entertain logos with either the long form or short form). The Innovation Laboratory works with churches (of various Christian denominations) to reinvent and reimagine youth ministry. We help them imagine, design, and deliver innovative solutions for youth ministry beyond the typical "youth group" model that often characterizes middle school and high school ministry. Using a design thinking approach, we help congregations dream about how to effectively form the faith of young people by reaching beyond the walls and ideas that usually confine their efforts.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
What colors do you want to see in your design?
Other color requirements
We're willing to look beyond this color scheme, but this project is a subsidiary of a larger organization that uses the following color scheme in its current logo: #fa8b18, #6c7174, #f3f3eb, #845e49, and they've begun to introduce #80c7bc (mint) too.
UPDATE: A new color palette has been released from marketing: Navy: 243746 (background mostly)
Seafoam: 80c7bc (accent)
Orange: f78f23 (logo & accent)
Gray: 6f7072 (logo & accent)
These colors can be used in our logo design however you wish. We do not have to be lock-step with the rest of the organization.
To give us an idea of the overall feeling of your brand, let us know which styles you lean towards
We like how the visual elements communicate an aspect of what the company deals with - it shows the viral spread
Like the way the graphic element communicates exactly the name of the company : Happy and fresh
Again, like how the graphic element communicates what this company does and helps the viewer make sense of the company name
Like the colorful and modern feel
The graphic element is ingenious as the various pixels come together to form the carrier pigeon
Mmm... not our fav, but we like the colors. It looks like it should for a luxurious hippy.
Like the pointilized style and how the abstract is brought together into a recognizable image
We'd love to find a way to incorporate the existing branding of the CYMT (see cymt.org for our concentric circles logo) into this logo design, but we are open to designs that forge a new path. I've attached some mockups of things I've tried to create in house; we like the fact that a church building is shown, but it's broken up and open to the outside world. We feel the typography however is too staid and the overall design speaks late 90s rather than innovation. The light bulb is also very overused, but we do like how the existing CYMT logo was incorporated into it. We've thought about exploring the popular mosaic-style or pixel-point images that I see around, but haven't mocked anything up that way.
