The Institute for Healthcare Advancement (IHA) is a nonprofit, 501 (c)(3) healthcare public charity, with the mission of empowering people to better health. IHA accomplishes its mission by hosting a national Annual Health Literacy Conference for healthcare professionals; publishing the easy to read, easy to use ‘What To Do For Health’ book series; and consulting on health literacy communication solutions. Locally, IHA administers the La Habra Family Resource Center, and is a leader of Covered OC, a collaborative of agencies advocating for and enrolling consumers in healthcare coverage in Orange County, California. For more information about IHA’s products and services, please visit http://www.iha4health.org
The Institute for Healthcare Advancement (IHA) is developing a separate website that will reach health literacy communicators (patient educators, nurses, researchers, clinicians, etc.) of all levels of experience in health literacy. The site is titled The Center for Health Literacy Solutions. This website will be a centralized database resource center of easy to find, accessible, useful, actionable information for healthy literacy communicators. The site will capture, assess, catalog and annotate health literacy research results, links, tools, fact sheets, citations, and statistics, among other health literacy related functions. Ideally it will serve as a community for those working in health literacy.
