I'm an entrepreneur with a business background. In my teens, I was extremely unhealthy and decided to do something about it. I researched for half a decade on my own, running tests on my own body only to discover that most recommendations from doctors and personal trainers were not based in science. I lifted myself up from the abyss through sweat and tears, and I want to spend my life helping people who don't have the willpower, time and resources that I had. I want to simplify their understanding of health and fitness using science and an evolutionary perspective.
Although my approaches can and should be applied to just about any adult, I've always felt that if you target everyone, you target no one, so I want to concentrate on 30+ year old men and women. The reasoning here is twofold:
1) Older adults have a firmer grasp on how their health and fitness is deteriorating over time when left unattended.
2) Older adults have more responsibilities and less free time, making my services (providing fitness in 30min per week) very attractive.
3) Older adults have generally tried and failed to get in shape many times in the past, most likely ending up giving it up altogether.
I want to give these people back their hope so that they can get on with their lives without feeling limited or trapped in their own bodies.
I am not artistically-inclined, but I can appreciate art. I want a logo that feels epic. I want to be impressed. I want it to stand out and make people feel like what I have to offer is something different and not just another gimmick. After one appointment with me, they'll understand and be hooked. I just need them to take a chance and try it out for themselves.
I want an original integration of the logo and name if at all possible. I really don't know what that would look like, but that's why I'm not a designer! I would prefer having a horizontally-disposed/integrated logo and name, as opposed to one on top of the other.
EDIT: If you're inclined to design something science-based or evolution-based, that could be interesting. Many have so far chosen to submit some variations of #3/#19, but I would like to see something more original from future submissions. Something that looks like a person seems too obvious to me. Think outside the box! :)
EDIT: Oh, and I would like some red somewhere!
EDIT: Many of the submissions have used a design looking like a flexible person opening up. I would like to see some designs to represent strength.
Please do not use any stock images or clip art in the logo.
