Wise Bread
My company owns a network of websites (if you do a good job on this one, there will be an endless stream of contract work or permanent position for you).
Our flagship site is WiseBread.com, a top online magazine about personal finance, frugal/green living, and lifehacks.
However, Wise Bread's focus isn't about boring stocks and bonds. We write about FUN linkbait stuff on the level of Readers Digest articles, like:
"10 Ways to Score Free Drinks"
"5 Things Your Landlord Don't Want You to Know"
"How to Launder Money Like a Pro."
Think of us as Lifehacker with a financial spin.
We get 1 million pageviews. Winner will get great exposure.
Savvy, educated, young audience around age 18-35. 60% women.
Will rate & comment daily. Once I get 10 designs I will guarantee contest. Thanks in advance.
Context: This logo is for our new design (see attached file mostly-blue2.PNG for our site's new design mockup). Please design the logo to fit with the attached mockup. Do not design around the live site http://www.wisebread.com.
Color: We like bright blue and green but we're open to other color choices as long as they fit with our mockup. See our mockup and http://www.theknot.com/ for example of the kind of blue & green we like.
Typography: We like Trajan Pro type of timeless/classic look, but you are welcome to try anything.
Style: Classic, elegant, conveys a sense of freshness and savvy. We want to look like a trusted lifestyle magazine for educated folks in their 20s and 30s.
We do NOT want to look like a stuffy finance site (i.e. Wall Street Journal) or a spammy get-rich-quick site.
Our tagline is "Living large on a small budget." Please place tagline at the bottom of the logo. Tagline should be unobtrusive. See our mockup for example of how big the tagline should be in relation to the logo.
File Formats: Vector, Hi-res, Illustrator, EPS including all layers, PDF, will need for future web, signage and marketing materials.
