Worthy Cause Apparel
We are a new company looking to sell graphic tees revolving around one common theme: a worthy cause. The worthy causes will include climate change, invisible children, child slavery, genocide, etc. The clothing line is meant to build awareness about these important social issues in order to 'advertise' the issue and spark discussion. We will also be donating money (around 30% of the t-shirt price) to a particular worthy cause (ie. if you buy a shirt about global warming, 30% of your purchase goes towards Greenpeace, etc.).
The target audience for Worthy Cause Apparel are men and women ages 18 - 30. The target adults will be proactive in their concern for the environment, social issues, human rights, etc. We will also be designing clothing for babies and younger kids in the future as well as other items such as laptop skins and posters.
We are looking for a modern logo that incorporates, "Worthy Cause Apparel". A simple, typographically beautiful logo. The logo could also be W. C. Apparel if you have a good idea for it, you are free to use either one.
Again, the logo should be bright (remember the target generation - generation Y and older). Our clothing line will consist of graphic t-shirts a.l.a. http://www.lintyfresh.com or http://www.glennz.com and will need to a logo to suit (don't copy their logos please, they're very ugly).
We are not particular on the colors (except no pink....), but would prefer to NOT have a web 2.0 look (i.e. no glossy reflections or 'bubble' letters). The clothing line is very niche and a logo that is 'Indie' and 'organic' or 'grungy' and 'propaganda-esque' (see below for details) would be preferred.
So, to recap: no glossy reflection, creative license to use whatever color and we would prefer bright colors with either a graphic t-shirt feel or a grunge design to it. The logo must be complimentary to a young, proactive - activist, save the whales and hug the trees audience.
Because our main audience is a a proactive group, and our 'theme' is people rising up to confront a global issue(s), one possible design we would like to see is a raised fist (think old Russian propaganda posters) either seperate from 'Worthy Cause Apparel' or a part of it (ex. a raised fist outline within the 'o' of 'Worthy' or elsewhere if you prefer). Please look at http://psd.tutsplus.com/tutorials/p…photoshop/ and http://psd.tutsplus.com/tutorials/d…ed-poster/ for an idea of the type of 'propaganda I'm talking about). That is not the only design we want to see so please feel free to be as creative as possible.
So, either do a logo with an earthy, organic feel to it or do a logo with a grungy/propaganda feel to it. Both are very acceptable and are equally valid. The logo will be used both as a logo for our website, as a logo for our company shirt, and on business cards and other media.
