Funderdome is a new, high energy, 8,700 square foot, indoor playground and café based in Ft Lauderdale, Florida that promotes fun, fitness and togetherness for kids and adults. The facility offers quality programming and free time, and is designed to be a place where everyone can participate as much – or as little – as they like. The main facility is open for free play to adults (who are accompanied by a child).
The indoor play space is a great alternative to the beach or other outdoor activities. This is especially valuable in South Florida, where heat and rain often limit chances of free play.
Playground equipment includes a rock climbing wall, ropes course, trampolines and a high-energy laser maze. A separate section for toddlers is available for free play, and will also be used for “Mommy and Me” type classes.
Funderdome also has a café attached, which is separated from the play space by a glass wall, so parents can relax with a coffee and use free WiFi while children enjoy free play or a class. The facility also has several party rooms available.
The vision for this facility theming is high-energy/industrial/modern/primitive, but please don’t let these concepts influence your own creative direction too heavily. If you see an opportunity for taking this in another direction, please go with it!
Our target audience is families with children from 6 months to 13 years old.
Locals in South Florida (from Miami, Ft. Lauderdale and Boca Raton) as well as the many tourists who come to the area for our beautiful beaches, tropical weather, and to depart on cruises from the largest port in the U.S.
Located near Ft. Lauderdale’s Port Everglades, this facility will also serve as an attraction for cruise passengers who need something to do before/after their cruises.
In this initial phase, Funderdome is requesting proposals from graphic designers to develop a logo to represent our new, high energy, play place and café based in East Fort Lauderdale, Florida. A good connection with a graphic designer at this initial phase presents ongoing opportunities to work together as we build this facility, then move on to others.
Phase 1 (this contest):
Phase 2 (after logo is selected):
• Character Concept
• Design exterior signage
• Develop advertisements
• Design stationery, business cards, and other corporate documents

(Note: please avoid use of stock images & clip art in the logo. If you do use it, please let us know.)
