Fresh Logo Needed for a Church's Updated Mission Statement
Check out jeffIf's Logo design contest…
We are Northwest Community Church (a couple of hundred person Christian church) a church looking to bless our neighbors in Northwest San Antonio, Texas. Our vision is below, our website is nwchurch.org if you'd like to see more about us. OUR VISION We seek to nurture a grace-permeated culture where we: …passionately pursue life-changing relationships with God, each other, and our world. …are being unleashed into Jesus-centered service, both inside and outside the church, so that our impact for God is way out of proportion to our size, making a difference that can only be explained by God’s power and presence. …are praying for, working toward, and celebrating lives changed by the grace, power, and love of God.
Thanks for considering our logo project! We are looking for a new logo to go with our recently updated mission statement. Our updated mission statement is: We help you take next steps with Jesus… so that you can help others take next steps with Jesus. Here is some more detail on the mission statement that you're creating the logo for... 1. This statement affirms that people move toward maturity and ministry via a process. The Bible frequently speaks of growing in Christ in terms of taking a walk. Paul wrote, [Colossians 4:6] As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him. Our Mission Statement imagines Christian growth as taking a walk made up of lots of “next steps” of faith, obedience, love, and service, taken over a lifetime. 2. The statement affirms that personal growth is not the whole picture; personal growth PLUS ministry is the whole picture. We want everyone who is a part of Northwest to personally take “next steps”! But it is not Mission: Accomplished when someone takes “next steps”. It is only when you - who are taking “next steps” - help someone else take “next steps” that the Mission moves forward. 3. The statement affirms universal application. Everyone can pursue “next steps” with Jesus. Nobody has reached perfect spirituality. We can all grow. AND, no matter who you are, you know someone who doesn’t know as much about following Jesus as you do. You can help that person take spiritual “next steps”. 4. The statement is challenging and clear, but it is not intimidating. There are no biblical terms or theological jargon in the statement. Anyone can understand it. It is accessible. It is our way of stating The Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20) in street clothes. Also, I've attached our church's overall logo. It was made about 5 years ago by a volunteer - it still works fine for us, but I wouldn't say that we're in love with it. It is meant to emphasize relationships with Jesus, each other, and our world. To be clear, your logo will not replace this logo. Rather, your logo will be specifically for our updated mission statement. So it is a bonus (but not required) if the logo you create looks like it sort of goes the church's overall logo while being a little more up to date than our current logo. Thanks again!
