First, let me say THANKS for your submissions. I appreciate the energy and creativity each of you displayed. The reason I chose you was based on your submissions AND the portfolio of your other work.
I'd love to see some more of your creativity on display. Specifically, I'd like to experiment with something that includes some more art/graphics. For example, look at the "Seaberry Surf" and the "Redracoon Games" samples in the design inspiration. I think it would be cool to have a "mascot" in the logo that can be used or left out when necessary.
Unfortunately, I don't have any pin-point instructions for what I want here. A couple ideas that might give you inspiration: a DJ (headphones/turntables/etc) or something 70's retro.
Another concept - I like the geometric approach in the Rhino logo above. Several designers in the first round used stars in their logos. I didn't love any of those submissions, but I didn't mind the star itself. Maybe something featuring a star, if done right, would be cool.
Finally another concept is graffitti themed. If you have skills with that sort of text, I'd love to see it.
Thanks so much for your submissions! I may reach out to you individually with suggestions for the designs you've already submitted. Thanks again!
We've chosen the name Kickstart 345:
- Kickstart - When we gather, we hope that kids will be energized in their faith. Some kids may be new to faith and really need to get started. Others may have grown up in church and need a jolt of energy.
- 345 - Representing the grade levels
For the feel, I want to avoid "kiddy" - I'd rather target pre-teen/teen look and feel. (i.e. no Comic Sans) :) The name kickstart harkens to motorbikes but I don't want to incorporate that imagery.
I'd also like to avoid overt Christian imagery. Crosses, thorns, fish, etc shouldn't be centerpiece to the design.
Text only is okay, but feel free to explore graphic treatments as well. The ideas of starting, launching, moving, accelerating, vaulting, catapulting, momentum, running, etc are what we hope to communicate in the program.
Gender should be neutral but can skew masculine.
No specific color scheme - please be creative.
We will use this logo for our branding, but it will also inspire a broader theme for room decor across several rooms.
