Centre for Excellence in Operations
The University of Alberta Centre for Excellence in Operations is a not-for-profit applied research institute in the School of Business. In its tenth year of operation, the Centre conducts leading edge research in the fields of management science and operations, and applies emerging techniques to complex quantitative research problems. The Centre has two major areas of focus: Research - The Centre is currently engaged in several projects for the government and industry including network design, capacity planning, and forecasting. Student Development - The Centre partners with large local companies to provide student projects with an operations research focus. Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
We are targeting government and industry looking to partner with academic institutions to improve their operations.
We are looking for an engaging logo that conveys both the cutting edge research and analytics that our center is capable of while still maintaining the respectable and stable image of a large academic institution.
Based out of the University of Alberta School of Business, the logo needs to use a color scheme that aligns with that of the school of business (see http://www.business.ualberta.ca/ )
Some themes that might help inspire (but don't let them limit you):
- We do a lot of work with road networks
- gears seems like a potential metaphor
- we do a lot of math so Greek letters may fit
