Generation Gives
We motivate, connect, and empower individuals particularly between 17-35 to take on the most pressing issues facing humanity. With the power of the internet and ability to coordinate potentially millions of people with a click - todays socially conscious can use the platform to share, support, and learn about todays most pressing issues and raise their voice.
Generation Gives is both an "app" (Browser, iOS, Android) as well as a "Blog/Publication". The app portion allows users to create a project or browse approved projects. They can view key success stats graphically of each project - (how many kids feed, gallons of fresh water extracted etc) budget information, as well as video, pictures, posts, documents, from the project coordinators to their donors/followers. People are able to make donations as low as $1 to the causes directly. News stories published by Generation Gives will resemble the format of Wordpress/tumblr and a humor along the lines of the Daily Show.
Never before have average people been able to collaborate, communicate, and execute efforts across the world - where the US civil rights movement had to gather in small groups - the internet, and social networks can provided a whole new level of civil disobedience and economic action - think 100x the punch of the Montgomery Bus Boycott - if scalable coordination can be achieved - which Generation Gives aims to provide.
