We're a Great Commandment Church seeking to fulfill the Great Commission serving Christ in our community! For the last 107 years, our church has served the Lord here in East Texas and we plan to keep doing so!
Seven years ago, our church moved to our present location - new location, new facilities and new opportunities. We did not, however, develop a long range plan for how we would develop all 33 acres of our property. That's what this project - Vision 33 - intends to show how we plan to develop that which the Lord has graciously given to us. Some of it will be used to develop new facilities. Other parts of the acreage will serve as a park-type facility. Still other parts will serve as athletic fields. All of it will be new work for us (the land is empty acreage right now) thus our desire to have a visual anchor to our marketing of this campaign. The land has a creek flowing through it, lots of pine trees and, in the spring, a million wild-flowers.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Our primary target for this initiative is our existing church membership.
For the most part, our congregation is white-collar middle class professionals. We've got a number of doctors, lawyers, banking professionals, teachers and business owners. We're typical east Texas - lots of hunters (and hunting widows!), football is king and pine trees as far as you can see.
Our church has a personality and character of warmth that is unusually strong. There's a kindness here that I've rarely observed in churches.
Our desire for this project is to help our target audience have a visual anchor for all things related to this project moving forward.
We want something contemporary and fun with traditional elements (since we are a traditional looking building) that will serve as a visual anchor for our vision campaign and our future building program.
Our desire is to connect across generations with this artwork. Our previous campaign (when we constructed our new, current facilities where we are now) was called "For the Generations ahead." I'd LOVE to see that incorporated if possible.
I've attached our current church logo in the color we normally use - green. But we're not attached to any particular color or style.
As for specific requirements, the biggest one is that "Vision 33" be the center-piece displayed in the logo.
No stock art or clip art in the logo.
No cartoons. We want something we can use in the church service.
It doesn't need to be fancy - most of our people are rather simple and the artwork should reflect that.
Full color is preferred.
