Every Jewish Soul Has A Voice
I’m open to ideas on the type of logo that’s best for my brand. While I like the freehand doodle style of a number of the examples I've provided, I'm not attached to it. What's most important is that the logo say three things: Jewish, music and connection. A fourth thing would be the human voice, which is the main tool we use in our work. We're open to a variety of color combinations and are drawn to more vibrant options. We do NOT want a logo that includes a Jewish star (Magen David) or a menorah because they are WAY overused in the Jewish world. We also do not want simple music notes, though the use of negative space and creative drawing that SUGGESTS musical notation might be interesting. However, we are open to other symbols that Jews would easily recognize but that are less common, such as the braided, multi-wicked candles (Havdalah candles) pictured on our mood board, the "burning bush," a lyre or even a simple flame or some combination of those. About our organization - we are Jewish cantors: sacred singers and spiritual leaders who lead prayer in synagogues, educate adults and children, direct choirs, produce concerts, visit the sick, comfort the bereaved, officiate at weddings and funerals, celebrate life's high points with our congregants, and serve as a comforting presence during their lows. Cantors, as clergy, provide essential musical and spiritual leadership that enlivens and enriches ALL aspects of Jewish communal life. As cantors, our mission is to elevate and transform the Jewish soul so that people can forge meaningful connections to each other, to the source of meaning in their lives, and to their own best selves. As an organization, our main role to promote our profession, provide professional development, give access to meaningful jobs and create opportunities for fellowship. Our members are both women and men who serve congregations primarily in North America.
Other color requirements
I like the idea of multiple colors, but the logo also has to work in one color, as well.

We are very satisfied with the new design of our logo. Change requests were always implemented very quickly and new ideas were introduced. Great work.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
