How Grip Productions started their logo design journey
We want to team with a creative genius to create a logo that inspires and ultimately reflects our insatiable appetite for powerful music.
Grip Productions is a newly launched corporation focused on musical production for the hip hop entertainment industry. Our production style is known for unparalleled quality – from the darkest, grittiest sound, to fast moving climaxing bars, to feel good sounds filled with rich instrumental/vocal samples, our sole purpose is to develop music with epic longevity and emotional presence.
The urban industry, and many other genres, have a taken a backseat to quality! The general public agrees that albums on average have 2 tracks worth listening to and this is where Grip comes in - we will evoke your emotions, touch your inner core, and make you feel inspired for the $12 you just spent on your favorite artist! Further, our music will extract the very best from our artists - we'll give you a listen and you'll feel proud to contribute to Grip Productions.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Our initial target market features elite hip hop entertainers. This includes artists such as Jay-Z, Ghostface Killah, Nas, Raekwon, Kanye West, Rakim, KRS-One, Big Daddy Kane. These artists all have different styles and we feel that we produce a better product than they've currently experienced. Some have been dormant for some time, some experiencing suffering record sales, and thus our music will serve as the answer or their return to success. Others are trend setters, and again, Grip will serve as a complement to lengthen their string of success.
Our requirements are simple - a hard hitting, urban style logo that looks commercial, and has success written all over it. We want to look as though we've been around for years - the type of logo you'd be proud to wear on a t-shirt because it almost looks very fashionable. OK - that's enough fluff, lets get down to some ideas we've bounced around and we'd like incorporated. We'll leave the rest up to you - please include any concepts you want.
1) a hand gripping a steel mic so hard that the steel is slightly contorted or debris is flying from mic
2) a turntable image - to get an idea, look at the cross section of the Def Jam album cover http://rateyourmusic.com/release/co…niversary/
