We are a team of mobile developers and we constantly get requests to flush out ideas for new mobile apps. Some of these ideas are very cool but have no funding. Like most people we have constraints and simply can’t afford to build them all. So instead we are launching a tool to enable anyone to take control of a mobile device. We want to empower innovators to turn their ideas into reality and we help expose their brilliance with the community at large.
We hope everyone will use our product but we need to start somewhere. Our initial target audience is the high-tech adult male and our initial platform is Google’s Android. We believe these users like the bleeding edge and don’t mind a little pain until the kinks are worked out.
We need a bold an innovative logo to express empowerment and creativity. And since the subject matter is something complicated that we are working to simplify, the logo must be both simple and complex. To define this better, we strive to make tools that are as simple as snapping Lego blocks together but powerful enough for a mad scientist to formulate a complex molecular structure.
I should share with you the meaning behind the name, rheti. It’s a combination of rhetoric and etiquette and we like the fact that it sounds like ready. We believe the name expresses simplicity and complexity. A little more insight into the product name is that users can associate a word (the spoken rhetoric) with a specific action (mobile etiquette). Simply put, you can speak to your phone and it will do stuff.
Your design will influence everything from the icons to the marketing material. So please make it awesome. Since we intend to use the logo in both marketing materials and the application icon, we need the artwork delivered in a layered vector format.
