There was a language barrier, however it never affected the designs and what she did to meet my requests. She nailed everything I wanted.

How rachel jM started their logo design journey
Who are you known as?
What’s your company slogan?
Giving directly to those in need
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
My organisation is a charity website where members of the public donate their quality used items rather than throwing them out. These items are are then given DIRECT to disadvantaged people (instead of being sold at charity shops). The website creates a link or "match" between items needed by people and items being donated.
The aim is to improve the lives of disadvantaged individuals by giving them things they need. At the same time, DonateDirect aims to reduce the burden on landfill resources by enabling the recycling of good-quality used items. Only people in need are able to obtain items - this is possible because a only a registered charity organisation or community service provider (eg social worker) can access items on behalf of the disadvantaged individual.
Donors can also access website to create a list of donated items which charities can then access.
DonateDirect will also function as a donations website during times of disaster relief. It also plans to attract business groups and government in order to improved charity in the community.
Main target audience :
1. Donors (ie members of the public wishing to donate a quality used item)
2. Charities and Community service providers (eg., social workers)
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
Community & Non-Profit

I would like 3 elements in the logo: The name DonateDirect, a picture/symbol that complements the organisation and the slogan "giving directly to those in need". DonateDirect should be one word. I would put the logo across the top left hand side of the home webpage. I would like any writing to be easy to read and not in cursive. I would like the symbol/picture to be meaningful to the cause of the website. I would like a professional look overall.
For the logo picture, I had imagined possibly using two" D" letters which are styled in the shape of people, that are connected by one person putting their hand on the other's shoulder (see my drawing image in the first attached file).
The main thing is that the logo needs to be simple and convey the charity's message of people giving to one another, and a logo that people remember, easily recognizble it when they see it in different places/environments.
