American Academy of Pain Management
(optional) Integrative pain management for optimal patient care
The American Academy of Pain Management (the Academy) is a non-profit professional organization serving clinicians, representing a broad number of disciplines, who treat people with pain. Founded in 1988, the Academy is the largest pain management organization in the nation and the only one that embraces a patient-centered integrative model of care, focuses on the “whole” person in an evidence-driven manner, and brings together all appropriate therapeutic approaches to reduce pain and achieve optimal health and healing. The Academy offers continuing education, publications, and advocacy.
Messaging:
We'd like to convey wholeness, integration, connectedness, health, well-being.
Imagery:
One concept we've considered is mandalas, however in an abstract sense. This is an organization geared toward medical professionals and should not be "new-agey" or complex. Other ideas are connected circles or triangular shapes, however these aren't set in stone. We don't want to use an "A" shape to represent the Academy.
Colors:
We're not wed to vibrant colors, and a somewhat muted palette may work.
Ideas to Avoid:
For our purposes, the visual of the "organic person shape" (e.g., http://identityview.net/premium-log…logo/1623/ or http://www.clipartof.com/gallery/cl…logo.html) is overdone, and don't want to go in this direction. Similarly, although health is a relevant aspect, this is a professional organization that speaks to medical professionals of all walks. We'd like to avoid using plants, etc. to represent "health" in the logo.
We're looking forward to seeing the results from the talented designers through 99designs!
