Appaladdin got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Corivus needs a new logo
Check out Appaladdin's Logo design contest…
Corivus buys primarily core small auto parts (alternators, starters, Ac compressors, power steering pumps, etc) from junked/wrecked/end-of-life vehicles. Corivus then identifies working cores that can be repaired or refurbished to be recycled back into use. The unrepairable scrap cores are recycled into their base metal components.Corivus also purchases scrap ferrous, & non-ferrous metals to be recycled. The target audience is any company and/or individual that produces this type of scrap either as a by-product of their normal operation, or is directly involved in the purchase and reselling of bulk amounts of this type of scrap.
Logo types to explore
Corivus is loosely based on the two Latin words "Cori" & "Redivivus", the first translated into English as "Core" anbd the second "Recycle(ing)". Please avoid the hackneyed use of arrows or going around in a circle to designate "recycling" or the prevalant use of green for the same reason. A strong word mark with an accompanying symbol that could be used in some applications by itself might be nice. Feel free to explore your own visions as creative professionals initially & I will be present to help you refine the ideas that are working for us after some initial designs begin to show up. For the MARK, lets try to focus more on the concept of CORE than on recycling. I think there is a lot of possibility to symbolize the idea of our CORE VALUES & PRINCIPLES as well as the fact that we happen to deal in Core parts. So think of things like (brainstorm here): circle, centered, strong, balanced, integrity, "What we are at our CORE" ... I hope you understand. A mark that represents that effectively would be very nice.

Shieverski is a star! When I needed a business card designed there was not any question at all to ask him to do it and the outcome is just fabulous, love it. Once again a pleasure to work with him on a project even this one was not as huge as for the logo and website but nonetheless absolute fantastic teamwork. Thumbs. Highly recommended.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
