Cheq (Pronouced "Check")
Cheq is an application (online and locally) for performing code reviews.
Cheq is the first product from 181 Cambridge. We're small, and we like it that way.
We believe in the 37 Signals Mantra of "Keeping it Real" - small, lean, with no added preservatives. We talk to our customers with the same mouths we use to kiss our momma's....and momma don't like no bullshizzle.
Cheq is an application for code reviews, targeted at software developers. A lot of our market will be from agile teams, but you don't have to be agile to use Cheq.
Anyone who wants to get their code reviewed by fellow team members will find Cheq useful.
Cheq (pronounced "Check") is an application for performing code reviews amongst agile teams.
The application will offer both online Software-as-a-service options, and downloaded local server instances.
The logo will be used both within the application, and on the application website.
In advertising we will use a series of slogans like "Get Cheq'd", "Cheq my shit", "Cheq it out", etc. These are not tag lines, and should not form part of the logo, but are mentioned to illustrate the tone of the company and product.
Note we're using "Check" in the context of a review - ie., "Check this over for me, would you?" - and not as a reference to checkered, tick marks, or the "other" type of paper money.
Also, code reviews are about collaboration -- more people working together on code leads to better code, and better developers. It could be good to include this theme (even if abstractly, or hinted at) in logo designs.
The logo should feel fresh and funky. I'm keen to avoid anything that feels too "techy" - abstract is okay. Bland corporate stock logo's or text-based font logos will be eliminated.
I'd also like to avoid anything that is feels too overly complex, or too busy. Simple and bold is okay.
Aside from that, you've got pretty much complete artistic freedom. This is total greenfields - both product and company.
Photoshop / fireworks sources required with delivery.
