The design was great! Of all the ones submitted it had the most elements of what I wanted right from the start. The designer was quick to work with me on any changes I thought about and in the end I feel like I have the perfect design.
How Afaylady started their logo design journey
Romulo Melo BJJ
I am an instructor and black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I came to the US about 4 years ago to begin my mixed martial arts career and build up my Jiu-Jitsu company and brand. I have trained under Royler Gracie out of Rio De Janiero, Brazil. I believe in hard work and discipline. I am currently undefeated in my MMA record and have also won the BJJ world championship along with many other titles.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
There is no specific age range. I teach kids as young as 4 to men as old as 70. It is predominantly a male sport. The setting of my classes are in a gym on mats. My classes are usually held in a boxing, Muay Thai or karate academy but I am looking to expand into my own space.
I would prefer green and/or blue be used in my logo although I am open to other colors. There may need to a brighter colors as well like red, orange or yellow. I am looking for something bold and strong that stands out in a crowd.
It is a predominantly male sport so it needs to have a masculine edge to it. This logo will not only be used on stationary and my website but also on patches and clothing. The patches will be placed on my students Gi's which are usually white but can be blue and black as well. The logo needs to be very clean but interesting from a distance since at tournaments patches can be hard to read at a distance.
This is my first time attempting something of this sort so please let me know if more information would be helpful and I am also happy to answer questions.
