Art & Design
I am an arborist, which is kind of like a tree doctor. I climb trees with chainsaws and prune them for health and beauty. I have a beard and wear suspenders which helps with networking. I get most of my work from word of mouth. I talk to people about what I do at bars, at parks walking the dog, the market, hiking, skiing... Etc... They are people of all walks of life, but my ideal customers are home owners who want someone skilled and artistic. I want to attract artsy folks who want someone with an eye for aesthetics to trim their trees and not the usual blue collar joe. I also want to attract the psychedelic minded crowd.
Logo types to explore
The image I have provided is okay. What I like about it: It makes a good patch. It's cool cartoon. The chainsaw is awesome, especially the double black diamond. It is what I asked for. Color. The way the log frames the gorilla. What I don't like: It isn't Kung fu enough ( I wanted Shaolin Buddhist, not plump jolly pious albeit awesome Buddhist). The kick isn't karate like. I want more karate. The beanie is more like a yamika. What I asked for: A young sassy faced baby gorilla with an orange beanie kicking through a log crosscut with splinters flying. In one hand she/ he holds a top handle arborist chainsaw (like the Stihl ms200t) and the other hand is held out front of the chest in the Buddhist fashion. There is a double black diamond somewhere in the image. The text outlines the image in patch like form. Full color. New stuff I want if possible (I know its busy maybe): I'd like to see the text "burned" into the log cross section like a classic wooden skiing sign. The sign makers carve and paint or burn the text. Like a ski trail sign, if possible.
