Evergreen
We are a small startup developing software-as-a-service web applications.
I'm looking for a product logo for our appointment scheduling software 'Evergreen'.
The target market is small business. There is a slight tilt towards women, though the target is by no means all women. They all offer services to clients and hope to grow their client base. They could be anything from yoga teachers to massage therapists, to music teachers and tutors.
The feel:
The feel of the brand should be fun and a little playful, while being professional, punchy, and compelling. I don't want a corporate feel, but instead a feel of excitement and energy. And I want it to have some dimension and not be too flat. See the two example logos I link to below for what I mean about dimension. They are illustrations that really come to life.
I'm looking for a product logo for our appointment scheduling software 'Evergreen'. However, I'd prefer no references to appointments or scheduling. I would prefer a focus simply on the term 'Evergreen', it's meaning and metaphors -- growth, spreading, self-renewal.
For inspiration help, here are some quotes from Wikipedia:
"an evergreen plant is a plant that has leaves in all seasons. This contrasts with deciduous plants, which completely lose their foliage during the winter or dry season."
"the term 'evergreen' can refer metaphorically to something that is continuously renewed or is self-renewing."
I'd like to see a graphical logo that can stand well on it's own, but also incorporates well with your treatments to the text of the product name 'Evergreen' (see examples, below).
Some of the obvious elements might be a leaf (or leaves), tree, raindrop(s). By no means limit yourself to this, but one idea I'd love to see versions of is a raindrop showing the reflection of a leaf or leaves...
Examples:
Logos that I love are:

Colors:
Green should definitely be incorporated. Otherwise we'd prefer colors found in nature -- orange (sunsets), blue (sky), etc.
Thanks for your consideration, and I looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
This could likely lead to more branding work.
