robehrich got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Aerodynamic, clean and clever logo for a boutique lobbying start-up focused on commercial drone policy and advocacy

We need a logo design for a new business based in Washington, D.C., called Slipstream Strategies. We provide government relations/lobbying (policy and advocacy) services and are focused primarily on serving companies in the emerging field of commercial use of unmanned aircraft systems/drones. The name "Slipstream Strategies" was selected because I wanted the name to have some meaning related to aviation, given that I am focusing on drone policy, but also to be perceived as broad enough so as not to turn off potential clients that might be outside of aviation. Two definitions of “slipstream” follow: 1. a current of air or water driven back by a revolving propeller or jet engine. 2. an assisting force regarded as drawing something along behind something. I think the second definition has particular meaning for our business because a lot of what we are trying to do is forge a new path for our clients, so the image I have in my mind is that we (or our efforts with our clients) are sort of the leading edge or leading face working to advance the industry through policy and advocacy work and our clients or others in the drone industry are drafting behind us. Some of this imagery is reflected in my crude attempts to sketch out a few preliminary designs. I hope they are helpful. I am not tied to any of them, though I find myself liking the triangle design the most, but wanted to share in case it helps to illustrate my thinking. Additionally, I have been thinking that "slipstream strategies" would be incorporated in the logo, but I guess that is not essential. I would be interested in different perspectives on that. From a brand-building standpoint I would think the logo would need to include the name, if only at the bottom of the logo and not integrated into the design.
