matthew.kaneO got their new infographic by running a design contest:
Nature Conservancy - Precision agriculture and wetland restoration in the Chesapeake watershed

Story to tell in the infographic
We are trying to communicate different strategies The Nature Conservancy is promoting and utilizing to improve water quality in the Chesapeake Bay watershed. One half of the infographic will be focused on precision agricultural practices, and the other half will focus on wetland restoration. Approved text will be provided by TNC and must be used.
Data to include in the infographic
Data will be part of the approved text provided by TNC.
Elements to include in the infographic
The full infographic should be 17x11, but able to be cleanly divided down the middle to create two 8.5x11 infographics that can also stand on their own. The left half will be focused on precision agriculture, and the right half will be focused on wetland restoration. We would like the background illustration - which should be a landscape image that includes farmland on the left and wetlands/waterways on the right - to further help illustrate the concept of how water moves across the land to reach the bay. Portions of the illustration should correspond to individual strategies highlighted in the text, and the connection be made apparent to the reader visually. See attached document for a rough illustration of the concept we're looking for. We're open to considering other layout suggestions as long as they can clearly tell the story we're going for. Any plants or animals depicted in the illustration should be endemic to the bay watershed/mid-Atlantic US region. Please avoid depicting invasive species like phragmites, sika deer, etc. In addition to the illustration and text, we would also like to include a small map of the Chesapeake Bay watershed somewhere on the infographic(s) (likely in one of the corners.)
All the provided text must be used for the first draft of the infographic. If it's determined that the amount of text is causing problems with legibility, we will provide edited text for the first round of edits. Re: the use of stock imagery, the dollar amount attached to this project is part of a finalized budget and can not change. We will not be able to pay any additional money for the use of stock imagery, so designers must either avoid using them or incur those costs themselves.
