We make an app for creative thinking on the iPad. The app allows you to bring all your creative content - notes, images, PDFs, web links, sketches, etc - into one freeform canvas. Our app is for people such as writers, academics, entrepreneurs, and designers.
What's your vision?
An illustration for the top of this job posting: https://museapp.com/systems-engineer. The illustration should evoke: a user is interacting with an iPad, the iPad screen is reacting to that interaction, and behind the screen / within the iPad there are "systems" powering that interaction. In real life these systems are complex software & hardware - a core challenge of this design is creating an interesting visual representation that connote these systems. In the illustration there should be a sense that the user's hand, what's on the iPad screen, and the systems within the iPad are all connected to each other. The illustration should be dynamic, giving a sense of movement, energy, and change. We're open to any design that invokes this idea. As a concrete example, we could have a user's hand coming in from the left side of the graphic, touch an iPad screen with some indication of that interaction (e.g. circles around the finger), and then further to right see exploded internals of the iPad that include both the hardware elements (screen, back of the iPad device) and in between something represent the dynamic software systems like gears, boxes with arrows, etc. There might be an indication of movement or connectivity, such as an accent that traces through the different layers or blur lines on the active components. But again we're open to other ideas here. The style we're interested in is that of an informal technical illustration. It should strike a balance between invoking "technical", "accurate", but also "sketchy" and "informal". We also think the style of exploded component diagrams could be interesting. See inspiration files below. The graphic should have a roughly 2:1 aspect ratio. It should have a transparent background but also be tested on a #F8F5F0 background. It should use one or a few dark colors such as black or purple (#5E4093). There should be no text in the graphic.
In our app, the user puts the stylus from one hand and fingers from their other hand at the same time; it could be interesting to incorporate this into the illustration (but not required).
