Create gorgeous illustrations for a leather-bound book series

Our mission is "a renaissance of the Christian imagination." We do ministry to (and with) artists, helping develop the best literature, visual art, and music in the tradition of Lewis, Tolkien, Andrew Peterson, Audrey Assad, etc. See our website at anselmsociety.org to get a feel for us and our current brand look, as well as our annual conference website at imaginationredeemed.com/.
What's your vision?
A series of 10 illustrations. We are expanding into print books and digital publications, and while we are happy with our fonts and colors, we feel what we're missing is some good illustrations. We want print-friendly, single-color (red #ac244f), flat design elements that we can use as accent pieces on website, print collateral, and (especially) our forthcoming monograph series (e.g. as section breaks, inside cover page illustrations, etc.). Ideally things that give a little bit of texture and depth. We want our brand to feel like classic (esp ancient and medieval) elements got a gentle contemporary refresh. One way to think about the overall feel we are going for: if a Gutenberg Bible came into the 20th century but kept its love for the smell of old books. Images from ancient church architecture (e.g. Gothic windows, a flying buttress or column), from art (e.g. a paintbrush and easel, a person reading)...creativity welcome. You can see where this is headed on this sample page on our under-construction publication site (images would be used here as well as in the print version of this which will be on textured paper in a leather-bound book): https://anselm-society-fpm2.squarespace.com/publications/2018/3/19/test-post-title
We are anticipating that if we find an artist we like for this, we'd hire you again for more illustrations in the future for new books, and potentially other projects like print collateral and possibly a logo redesign. I like the way the rough-edged images and accent font add character to this website's brand: https://www.leadershiptransformations.org/. While their images are icons, we'd be using ours for things that are a bit larger so a tad more complexity is definitely okay. See attached images for possible inspiration, but don't feel restricted by what you see there. In case it's helpful: current fonts are Mrs Eaves Roman Lining and Josefin Sans all caps.
