sam X9 got their new card or invitation by running a design contest:
Save the Date

This is a Save the Date Invitation to our Wedding.
What's your vision?
This is the Save the Date Invitation. I have included an inspiration board because I do have a small vision of what I want. Our wedding is at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville Carolina. Very old building (I highly suggest looking it up!). All of our guests are from out of town (mainly coming from Ohio). I wanted this Save the Date to feel like a Post Card with a retro feel to it. The theme of our wedding is not retro, but it will tie in very well to the over all look so finding a good balance of retro and modern will be helpful. Size: This is going to be mailed like a traditional post card, but size has not been determined. Maybe a 4"x6" or 5"x7". Ideally, we would be able to adjust the size of the card slightly as needed with what is needing to be printed. Colors: I do not have a color scheme to our wedding because it is going to be very neutral, organic, and romantic. But I would like to use Black and Golds because it will fit in nicely with the over all look. Copy: Greetings from NORTH CAROLINA! Save the Date Sam and Casey October 3rd, 2015 (or any variation of showing this date) Mandatories: It would be important for the card to have the state of North Carolina and Asheville Highlighted (see my example in my inspiration board-I show the Grove Park Inn as a Stamp on the State, would love to try and do this if it looks right). I would also like the North Carolina Spelled out. I am not tied down to my example drawing I provide or having to use my Engagement picture that I also provided. The purpose of the inspiration board is just to help guide.
Everything on the inspiration board beyond my drawing and engagement picture is from Pinterest. I have included an engagement photo. I am aware that the resolution of this image is not as high, but my feeling is that it will actually help with the overall retro look. The image is not to be a focal point, but just apart of it.
