Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
The Foundation for Prader-Willi Research was established in 2003 by a small group of parents who saw the need to foster research that would help their children with Prader-Willi syndrome lead more healthy and fulfilling lives. Today, FPWR is composed of hundreds of parents, family members, researchers, and others who are interested in addressing the many issues related to PWS, including childhood obesity, developmental delay, psychiatric disorders and autism spectrum disorders. The mission of FPWR is to eliminate the challenges of Prader-Willi syndrome through the advancement of research. High quality research will lead to more effective treatments and an eventual cure for this disorder.
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
OneSmallStep (OSS) is our major fundraiser that takes place across over 30 cities and 5 countries. Every year it gets bigger as more cities come on board to support the effort. OSS raises money through individuals who create fundraising pages on our system and then solicit donations to the page. We organize these pages into cities and these cities compete against each other for prizes. We developed the OSS platform and fundraising page system in house and you can see it in action here: onesmallstep.fpwr.org This year, we would like to add more game mechanics to the site in the form of badges and awards. Users would receive these badges once they complete specific tasks or reach certain milestones. Please read the attached design brief for a list of the badges that we need to have designed. We think there are about 7-8 base designs and some cut-and-paste to make the rest.
Please reach out if you have any comments or questions.
