We are on a small start-up business in the machinery/equipment industry. It revolves around the material handling business for moving product/material the automotive, beverage, home appliance, food, glass, steel and port industries.
We will sell, rent and service forklift attachments (such as paper clamps, appliance clamps, bale clamps, double/triple pallet handlers) and provide solutions (scales, cameras, training, advisory service, etc) that improve safety, increase expertise and provide efficiency gains around the industries mentioned above.
Our primary focus will be in the Mexican market during the first two years and then expand to the USA. The american company is called "Attached Solutions”. This company will also be the owner of the Mexican company that will be called “Complementos de Montacargas” which means some in the sort of “forklift complements or forklift add-ons” . We own all the domains and company names already.
We have exclusive rights to distribute for now two brands “www.durwen.de” and “www.loron.com” we also offer forklift driver training services as well as safety equipment like “local safe” and equipment that increase productivity like weighing scales, cameras when loads are high or hard to see. We also provide logistics advisory services.
My partner has an existing business similar that we are trying to replicate in Mexico called http://www.anval.cl that has similar product lines (but not the same brands) but the concept is basically the same.
Forklift attachments, scales, safety equipment, cameras, etc are not sold to end users but sold to OEM forklift distributors that sell to the end user.
We could be going to the same end user on the same deal via different OEM forklift dealerships. There are varios brands of forklift companies around the world such as Caterpillar, Mitsubishi, Linde, Toyota, Hyster, Yale, Crown, Raymond, etc.
There are no direct competitors since our competitors are the manufacturers of forklift truck attachments that sell directly to forklift truck distributors. Our competitive advantage is that we are on the ground with local support in Mexico (and in Spanish) both for the technical sale which is very technical and the service which generally needs to be procured from abroad. Another competitive advantage is that we are multi-brand and not all brands have full product lines nor are they good in each of their product lines. We are planning to distribute the best product line for each of the brands.
Forklift attachments companies that are competitors of DURWEN and LORON are Cascade, Bolzoni-Auramo, Right-Line and Kaup. The first two (Cascade and Bolzoni-auamo) are very large public traded companies. Right-line is a small family owned brand that would be the direct competitor of LORON and Kaup is a medium Germany family own company that would be the direct competitor of DURWEN
We are the process of starting up this business and we have no corporate identity. It would be nice to get it right from the start. We don’t have web page, or logos or corporate brochure or anything of this sort.
I hope I have explained my business well enough. This is just the beginning. Corporate Folder, Specs, sheets, powerpoint template should all follow so do you best with our POWERFUL logo. Then comes our Mexican company!
