CDMR (“Compagnie des Metaux Rares” - the Rare Metals Company in French) is a company that focuses on rare metals, and the investment opportunities that derive from their applications.
Most notably, CDMR runs the "Rare Metals Fund”. Instead of investing in intangible stocks and shares, this fund invests in physical rare metals (such as Cobalt, Ruthenium, Indium, etc.) These rare metals are critical for green technologies, telecoms, medicine, air transport... basically, most of us aren’t aware of their presence in our everyday lives, but they underpin the tech revolution that we are currently undergoing.
We want to appeal to high net worths, family offices, well-off people and institutions. And we want to offer them a very sensible financial proposition, but also interest them in a new way of doing finance. In many ways, our philosophy involves going back to basics: Investing in something of real value that you can see and touch, instead of those debt and derivatives bubbles that led to the last financial crisis.
So our target clientele want to keep their wealth safe from a crash, they want to invest in something tangible and secure. We cater to that need. But we also want to get them excited about an investment opportunity that is forward-looking, dynamically managed and that answers the real-world challenges of tomorrow.
So for the logo, we’re thinking of something very classy and top-of-the-line, timeless, understated, and which may (or may not) contain a visual reference to rare metals.
