How jaimeattherock started their book cover journey

I am writing a book titled 'Malnourished' subtitle 'Equipping Parents to Battle Spiritual Poverty on the Home Front' . The goal is to equip parents and other adults with children in their sphere of influence to take the lead in the 'spiritual feeding' of their children. My audience is primarily Christian parents.
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
What I want to convey in the cover art is that many children in our western culture suffer from spiritual poverty. They are malnourished, but some are starving spiritually while others are 'malnourished but over fed' due to 'spiritual junk food'. The themes I want presented in the cover are *battle*- that parents are engaged in a battle against spiritual poverty. Also I want to show the poverty is being resolved by offering spiritual food (could be represented by bread). I am very open to artistic license, but I have two ideas for a cover.
The first is someone in battle armor handing 'bread of life' (could be bread with a cross on it, or illuminated bread) to a small child. I would like to either see just hands and part of the armor or faces unclear or silhouette so it could be anyone or anyone's child. I picture the adult in armor kneeling on one knee with a shield and sword at their side with arms extended, and the child reaching to receive the bread.
The second idea you can find as an extremely crude sketch in photo uploads. There is a plate and utensils as the focal point of the cover, divided in half. One side has 'junk food' the other side is empty or only has crumbs, symbolizing starvation. There is a sword with bread at the tip of the sword, symbolizing the 'bread of life', maybe with a cross on it. The sword should cross diagonally across the plate to look like a 'no entry' sign (photo of a red no entry sign uploaded also for reference). please message me with any questions.
I like the lettering in the 'carved' photo, like it is carved in stone. I like the look of the plates and wood table also for the second idea.
I haven't received any designs yet depicting the first idea I described (someone in armor, handing bread to a child). I have just uploaded a shutterstock image of an adult handing bread to a child. I would like the bread to symbolize spiritual food, so to have a cross or to be illuminated. If there was a way to incorporate armor or a sword, to symbolize parents battling against spiritual poverty, that would be great.
