Sir Trevor has been a great designer to work with. Always willing to make changes and submit alternative designs, he would be a good choice for your project.
I got lucky with a very talented designer who had both the experience and communication skills; he was very responsive. He didn’t complain about any of the edits and delivered on time. Recommend highly and would use him again in a heart beat!
Excellent working experience. You can expect high quality work in shortest turn-around.
- A Rainy Day's Hope
When you've spent one and a half years of your life working on a novel, you want to top it off with a cover you're proud of. A Rainy Day's Hope and Mohamed did just that for us. We're completely please with his work and will have no hesitation about using him again. A few revisions after the fact became necessary, and he was more than happy to take care of the changes.
How coryajones4 started their book cover journey
Title: Followed Subtitle: Who's following You? Author: Cory Alexander
10 years in Public Education - 4 in middle school, and 6 in High School. This is my first book. As well as being a Guidance Counselor, I'm also an entrepreneur creating a mentoring program.
Fiction, mystery, suspense, tweens, teens
The book is about a group of high school freshman dealing with social media and the ups and downs that come with it. The plot is based on the main character Vanessa being pursued by someone online in which no one knows who he is and he turns out to be a predator and not a young man her age.
11-14-year-olds, middle school students and high school freshman of all races and nationalities across America.
Book cover type
the image of the girl and the simple colors
GIRL LIKE HER. DO NOT USE HER LIKENESS. Her character on the show Black'ish and her look.
Her hair style
The art and colors
The way it depicts danger.

GIRL LIKE HER. DO NOT USE HER LIKENESS. The look of the girl if you use a character
If you used infographics of people and have one girl (the main character) a different color and the villain in red and everyone else "followig" her the same generic color.
GIRL LIKE HER. DO NOT USE HER LIKENESS. image of girl id like character to look like
I like bold colors and image.
What colors do you want to see in your design?
I like edgy and bold graphics. I also like a contrast and prefer a white background with bold fonts. I would like social media nuances. Also I would like to convey there is a sense of danger. The story is following a group of 14-year-olds and how they deal with social media, friendship, self-doubt, fitting in, etc. Focused on Vanessa the main character (captain of the volleyball team, cheer squad member, straight-A student, school paper).
THESE ARE SUGGESTIONS (Feel free to share your vision in your draft(s):
1-Side image of a girl by her open locker, in the hallway looking at her phone.
Or 2-artwork around a phone and a text message, bold yellow background and text bubbles with titles. Or 3- have shape of phone in white in the middle of book with the word: FOLLOWED and subtitle. The background should be infographic male/females in grey with one male highlighted in red and one female highlighted in yellow or another color. See "GRIT" book cover by Angela Duckworth (in link).
If you use a character, I would want it to be like the girl in this file (Zoe from the show Black'ish) with a hairstyle of the second girl with braids, in this file: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B…GJUSHZ3N0U
Link includes book covers that I like. *The white cover with the African American Girl holding the sign is a favorite.
What to avoid
The designer should avoid the cover being too childish looking.
