I would like a cover designed for the non-fiction book that I am writing.
On the front I'd like the title in the middle - Tree of Lies
The subtitle in a smaller font - Transforming Decisions, Behaviors, and Relationships By Gaining Perspective On Your Identity in Christ
The author name is Scott Perkins
Also on the front, bottom - Foreword by Kary Oberbrunner, Author of Day Job to Dream Job, The Deeper Path, and Your Secret Name
This book will come in two versions: paperback 6 x 9 (Create Space specs) and hardcover laminate 6 x 9 (Ingram publishing specs). Their websites have the correct dimensions, bleed, etc.
Also, I'd like a Kindle cover as well.
The description of the content follows:
God created the first man and woman with the intent that they would be rooted in His image. Meaning that their source of worth and significance would be found in who God said they were. As the story goes, the man and woman were tempted and believed that God could not be trusted and that something more than God was needed for wholeness.
Seeking identity apart form God led to the experience of shame - feelings of worthlessness and being unloveable - and the man and woman sought to cover up.
This is our inheritance. All of us are pursuing wholeness. So we create a false identity rooted in things like relationships, roles, popularity, perfection, being productive, possessions, etc. This inevitable leads to a life of bad fruit - busyness, possessiveness, manipulation, objectifying people, worry, anger, etc.
As we try to overcome this bad fruit, we try harder to invest in the false sense of self. Deepening our root, believing the lies that we are not good enough.
We try to change the tree of our life by changing the fruit. But here is the deeper principle: If you want to change the fruit, you have to change the root.
Becoming rooted in Christ, being a disciple, requires that we see ourselves as He sees us. Believing the truth. Freed from trying to live up to an ever changing standard of the world, our decisions, behaviors, and relationships become transformed.
