My website and blog is dedicated to singles who are happily single.

While Dating is the industry that's closest to what I'm looking for to describe the book and blog, the book is really about cultivating a relationship with one's self before seeking a relationship with another person. I'm looking for a simple but great book cover for a 80+ page eBook called Single & Happy: The Party of Ones. My aim is to launch the book in January 2013 with a 30-day self-love lead up to Valentine's Day 2013. The book is about my journey attempting to try online dating for two years before I realized that I wasn't ready to date and I actually loved being a single person, despite books like He's Just Not That Into You and shows like the Bachelor/Bachelorette that make it seem like the only purpose any single has in life is to find someone to couple with. I want the typography of Single & Happy to be celebratory and bold with a sketch of singles in the background and the title in the foreground. I want the book to appeal across gender identities and ethnicities, so I want to avoid pink.

Other books like the one I'm writing include Quirkyalone, which had a simple cover just with the title and subtitle and the author's name; Outdated: Why Dating is Ruining Your Love Life, which had bold text and a frog (the one that was supposed to turn into a prince) and A Woman Alone, which had a photograph of a woman at the edge of a pier. I'd like to go with a text heavy cover with a light design in the background, but designers are free to surprise me with their interpretation of this.
