Book/Dust Cover for "A Pilgrim for Freedom"

We are looking for a book cover design. Our organization is literally just a family who are looking at finally releasing a book written by our grandfather about his experiences during WW2 and moving to America.
What's your vision?
Looking for a book cover, front and back, for a book. The title is A Pilgrim for Freedom. It documents the life experiences of a young Serbian boy and his family as they escape the former Yugoslavia in the midst of WW2. Their family are royalists and the target of the fascists and communists alike. They make their way to Italy, Brazil, and finally the United States. They are nearly killed many times, and experience things no one should have to. In America, they have nothing of their former lives except each other. The book details how Michael, the author, works his way up from nothing in this strange new land of opportunity. He joins the US Air Force to fight the communist threat his family knows so well, eventually rising to the rank of Colonel. After leaving the service he starts a successful business and enjoys the freedom that he has reached and defended with much hardship.
Looking for essentially a dust cover and/or something that will be used while selling the book electronically on Amazon publishing. We will be selling the book in hard copy form, so we want a dust cover, but are open to ideas for things that can be used on the main Amazon Product page as a "cover" for the book.
Every design category has flexible pricing for all budgets. Book cover starts at NOK 2,599.
Full copyright with production-ready files for digital and/or print.

99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected 2 winners!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
