Sigrid Alice Jacobsen
The author is a sensitive and intuitive person who has been on a long journey, finding her way back to health through connecting to her body, soul and heart. She is originally a teacher, but after she got sick, she got into the alternative health field. After many years she took education in Natural Medicine, Leadership by Heart Coaching and various other courses. She developed a deep understanding of her body and soul. Throughout this she also left a fundamentalistic Christian Church, that she had been brought up in and belonged to for 38 years. She loves deep and genuine connection with other people. She also love flowers, animals, spending time in nature, and being with her two children who are 10 and 13 years old.
My book is about my healing journey from chronic fatigue syndrome and inner unhealed stress and trauma, to a deeper connection with my soul, heart, inner child and my authentic self. Through vulnerable short stories / chapters from my real life, I describe from the inside how I gradually befriend my body, start listening to my soul's voice and learn how to release inner stress from the past, other people's control over my life and gradually connect to the divine in my own heart and soul. The book has a sense of light and hope shining through, even in the dark places. Step by step I find more light and healing coming in to my life and I learn to know God in a whole different way than the strict way I was taught in the church I was a part of untill I was 38 years old. In the book I want to show that it was also through the dark places and difficult times I found my way and received help to become authentic, free and sure that I was loved by my Source (the Light). The book can be read on different levels. It is also a story about how disease is connected to all parts of yourself and your story, and that the solution may not be coming from a doctor or just a pill they give you.
Women 20 - 60 years old in the western parts of the world. It is for sensitive souls who are going through deep transformation and want to connect with their body, their inner truth and light and release "old baggage". It is also for people who suffer from a chronic disease like fatigue, who is open for a wider view of their condition and need to get hope and see that it is possible to get better.
Book cover type
I would like a front page that symbolizes the content. The lower half of the page has nuances of green, going dark green at the bottom (maybe even towards blackish on the left bottom side) and lighter green as it go upwards.. The upper half of the cover is purple, maybe going from a deeper color and then lighter purple as it goes upwards. At the upper right corner I see bright light (as a sun / the source) shining sunbeams out, maybe even a couple of sunbeams can reach the darkest colur (green/black) at the bottom left side? A big white feather is in front of the picture. It symbols me / the person getting free, it takes a pretty big space in the middle of the page, a slight turn to the right while it "blows" free upwards. The feather might have some silver or golden lining / threads, as all the experiences I describe in the book, is what makes me become free finally. I see a landscape picture (not a real photo, more like painting) with green fields from afar, and then a purple sky over, that gets brighter the higher up. At the bottom left it might be dark colurs, almost black at the darkest, maybe some thorn bush or big stones that can symbol all the heavy burdens my body carried from life and from the stress I had to deal with. I am not sure if the change of dark – light colours is enough as a symbol of the theme, or if nature elements like stones/ thorn bush will make it easier for the viewer/ reader to comprehend the message. Or if the simple is the best. I leave it up to the designer. The mood is hope, but at the same time acknowledging the darkness / heavy things and the light that also exists. And by following the light you get more. The font style should probably relate to the theme of getting free, so not very «squary», but not completely "dreamish" eihter. But some round and free style, easy to read!
