The title of the book is: Backdoor to the White House
Subtitle: The Election of 2016 and the Crazy Story that Might Come True
My idea for the cover is that the title will be quite large and take up about the first 3rd of the cover. The subtitle and author's name will go at the bottom. This is an idea, and I am open to seeing other design concepts.
Below the title and before the subtitle, I was thinking it would be cool if there was some sketch of the White House -- not a photo, but a sketch, and people should be able to recognize the image instantly as being the White House. Then get cartoon figures of Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton in front of the White House with Gary Johnson sneaking around the back.
My book is a fictional story of what could happen with the 2016 Election. In order to be elected President of the United States, a candidate must win 270 electoral votes. It's not just a matter of finishing in the lead. The person in the lead must also finish with at least 270 electoral votes. If Hillary and Trump basically split the vote, and Gary Johnson wins only 1 state, no candidate will win on Election Night.
My book tells the story of what happens from Election Night to Inauguration Day, which is outlined by the 12th Amendment of the Constitution. The Election goes to the House of Representatives, where Gary Johnson picks up support as a compromise candidate, and on January 23rd, on the 6th ballot in the House, the House finally elects Gary Johnson as the next President of the United States.
I call this book a political fiction. It's in the same vein as the Netflix series House of Cards. Or the National Treasure movies or DaVinci Code books where fictional stories are told based upon real characters and real events in history.
The back of the book will contain a short description of the book and a short author bio. I will provide that text soon.
