KnowKnot needed a new banner ad design and created a contest on 99designs.
A winner was selected from 44 designs submitted by 14 freelance designers.
Nospuds
Nospuds is all about not being a couch potato - it's about getting off the couch, out the door and living life. It's a free online directory of events and activities in your local area. It’s not about tickets to events but maybe you want to learn to do the waltz or maybe the scouts have a local fundraiser or the local church has a fete or the local pub has live music. As long as you have a time and a place for your event then you can promote it on nospuds for free. Currently we have 2 sites http://www.nospuds.com.au and http://www.nospuds.co.uk
The contest is for a set of website ads for Google Adwords. The ads can be static or animated gifs – subtle animated gifs work best I think. The target is a general audience of everyday people who could be looking for stuff to do in their local area.
Draft ads do NOT need to cover all sizes but the winner needs to make all the Google adword sizes shown here http://support.google.com/adsense/b
The font used to create the logo was Sari Black – it's up to you if you wish to use it more.
There are lots of nospuds characters and it's up to you what you use. The branding should be friendly and accessible to all ages/types. EPS attached with vectored versions. Can supply in other formats.
As the idea is to get people off the couch and out the door this may make for a simple 2 or 3 frame animated gif…?
Obviously CTR and branding is important to us.
Wording on the ad:
Don’t be a spud! Get off the couch & find something to do.
I want to use the ad for both nospuds.com.au and nospuds.co.uk so either it needs to be country neutral or I need 2 sets.
Adwords requirements for animations:
- Animation length must be 30 seconds or shorter
- Animations can be looped, but the animations must stop after 30 seconds
- Animated GIF ads must be 5 fps or slower
- Animated GIFs cannot be used in mobile or tablet ads
